Supported installation choices
The installer supports these customer choices:
| Choice | Purpose |

| Hostname | The approved address users open in a browser. |
| TLS mode | Automatic HTTPS, client-managed certificates, or an approved external reverse proxy. |
| Client-managed certificate | Certificate and key supplied by the client when that TLS mode is selected. |
| Trusted proxy | The approved proxy that forwards requests to OneView. |
| Start now or prepare only | Start services immediately or complete host preparation first. |
The installer may ask for the license and activation values interactively. Prefer the prompt so those values do not enter shell history.
Use the installation command supplied through the approved OneView delivery channel. Do not add undocumented flags, change release-verification settings, or reuse a command from another installation.
Operational commands
After installation, use commands displayed by the relevant dashboard page or the installed OneView tooling:
- System updates displays the version-specific update command.
- Network settings displays the host command for an approved network change.
- Installation diagnostics & repair documents the sanitized report and bounded repair workflow.
- Administrator recovery describes when the protected recovery workflow is appropriate.
Always run operational commands with the operating-system account that owns the installation. Keep terminal output containing sensitive values out of tickets, chat, and shared logs.
Safety rules
- Do not run initial installation over a configured production deployment.
- Do not hand-edit generated deployment configuration.
- Do not append undocumented actions to the installer command.
- Do not bypass release, license, hostname, certificate, backup, or health checks.
- Use only commands generated by the installed release or published for that exact version.
