Setup token

Unlock the protected setup session.

Why setup is protected

The setup token proves that the person configuring OneView can access the installation host. It prevents an unauthorised browser on the network from claiming a new installation.

The installer prints the token once installation completes so the host administrator can continue directly in the browser. If that terminal output is no longer available, use the approved installation recovery process rather than searching application files or generating a replacement.

Enter it on the setup page. A successful exchange creates a short-lived, secure browser setup session, so the token does not need to be entered at every step.

Handling rules

  • Do not email or paste the token into support tickets.
  • Clear or protect captured terminal output that contains the token.
  • Do not put it in a URL or shell argument.
  • Limit access to the OneView host and installation account.
  • Do not regenerate it for an existing installation without an approved recovery procedure.

Setup sessions expire and are revoked when setup is completed.
