Required values
Activation requires:
- The license key issued for the customer.
- The one-time activation code generated with that license.
The activation code is not the setup token. The setup token protects local configuration; the activation code binds a commercial license to an eligible installation.
What activation does
A successful activation:
- Consumes the one-time activation code.
- Binds the license to the installation.
- Retrieves the licensed Modules, selected Sub-modules, limits, dates, and online refresh policy.
- Advances the installation to the next setup step.

Common rejection reasons
- The license and activation code do not belong together.
- The activation code has already been used.
- The license is not active or is outside its valid dates.
- The maximum installation count is reached.
- The selected release or architecture is not authorised.
- The server cannot reach the licensing service or has an incorrect clock.
